Ditchit Reviews and Plans

DitchIt is a relatively young internet service provider when put up against the competition it has to face in Canada having been founded in 2008 a mere twelve years ago. The wordplay on their business name is quite amusing as they boast that their service will make consumers ditch whatever they previously had for their service instead. DitchIt provides a multitude of services ranging from internet solutions, PVR, and VoIP services. A lengthy investigation into where the headquarters of DitchIt is located turned out to be fruitless. Due to the fact they are a relatively new company their employee force is only 10 people strong. Nonetheless, we want to give them a fair review of their services and how they match up against some of the great’s in the internet service world.

DitchIt offers an unlimited high-speed DSL FTTN plan which comes with a download speed of 10 Mbps and an upload speed of 1 Mbps for $54.99 per month. The pricing is not atrocious but it can definitely be better. Especially if we were to consider other unlimited plans that offer their plans for much less such as Altima Telecom which offers an Mbps 25 Mbps plan with unlimited usage for about $44.95 a month~. The difference in download speeds is there but that is something that can be upgraded for much lower costs in comparison to boosting up your bandwidth usage. Another service provider that DitchIt would definitely have to contend with in this regard is Heronet which offers a 30 Mbps plan with unlimited usage for only $52.88 per month!!!  

A few appealing things we did notice about DitchIt were actually surprising considering we don’t see enough service providers doing this! There is no throttling with unlimited internet plans! That comes as a huge shocker considering it is one of the few ways that internet providers can compensate for unlimited usage plans. Another great thing from DitchIt is that a user is not required to bind themselves to a contract. Most providers would offer promotions and then slap on a contract with it to make sure the customer has nowhere to go!

In all honesty, Ditchit is not doing a terrible job when it comes to pricing and value, but they can definitely step their game up. In other words, they have competition who is currently doing a better job, and that is enough to set an entire business behind the line!
