goZoom Reviews and Plans

GoZoom.ca is a Canadian ISP with HQ in the McNab/Braeside area of Ontario. 

GoZoom.ca offers DSL and wireless high-speed internet service, serving both Ontario and Quebec throughout the Ottawa River Corridor. GoneVoIP will review its plans and pricing and see how the ISP stacks compared with the rest of the Canadian ISP available.

GoZoom.ca doesn’t offer plans with contracts which is a very nice bonus. Furthermore, they do not charge customers for wireless site surveys – which we have always found to be one of the more common charges rural internet service providers charge customers for these days. 

As CEO Ian Fraser points out on the GoZoom.ca “About Us” page on the website: “Why should I charge you just to tell you “No, you can’t get my product”? That’s wrong. I’d almost call it predatory because we (the ISP’s) know how badly some people want broadband and we know those people will gladly hand us $50 or $100 bucks just for a chance to get it.” 

We couldn't agree more Ian. All ISPs know they can charge whatever fees they feel like charging, especially the more remote the area is. So let’s look at how the rest of their prices fare.

GoZoom.ca has eight home internet plans available ranging from $49.95 to $109.95 The plans are all with unlimited usage. 

4G/LTE

• Surfer: 5 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Upload at $49.95 per month
• Streamer: 7 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Upload at $69.95 per month
• Streamer HD: 10 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Upload at $89.95 per month
• Streamer HD+: 15 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Upload at $99.95 per month

5G/FWA

• Bronze: 7 Mbps Down, 2 Mbps Upload at $69.95 per month
• Silver: 10 Mbps Down, 2 Mbps Upload at $89.95 per month
• Gold: 15 Mbps Down, 5 Mbps Upload at $99.95 per month
• Platinum: 25 Mbps Down, 10 Mbps Upload at $109.95 per month

Standard Fixed Radio installation is a one-time fee of $199

DSL/VDSL

• 7 Mbps Down, 1 Mbps Upload at $50.95 per month

Overall, GoneVoIP's review of GoZoom internet plans finds that there are a good variety and reasonable prices. Though in comparison in the dollar amount is often more expensive than Distributel or Altima Telecom. However, GoZoom does offer unlimited Wireless internet in exchange, the consumer shall consider if that extra bandwidth is worth the pricing and the penalty for a lower speed. Setup prices are comparatively high; particularly in the DSL/VDSL plans. goZoom could look at reducing these costs, or embed into the rate of the monthly plan to enhance the affordability of the plans.
