Worst Internet EverInternet keeps cutting in and out. Customer service is NO help. Customer service will actually tell you lies. For example on a beautiful day they say no technician can come due to bad weather. Don't provide refunds when service is out. You pay for NO service.Provincial government provided funding to this company to take monthly payments from us suckers and provide no decent service in return. No internet is better than dealing with this garbage. |

Slow SpeedThe internet speed is slow , have lost the service a few times with no refund, for what they charge should be faster speed , blame some of this on the provincial and federal government for not setting higher speed internet for rural communities |

CrapService is terrible, rarely a good connection. Either no connection or very slow. They have a virtual monopoly on internet here and don't care about providing a basic service. Take our money and don't care knowing we have little other options. Cruel company preying on people desperate for basic internet. Reply from: Loretta Moss December 26, 2020 Wondering when we are going to get our Internet back? Tower blew down in Jamestown nl. Several people in the area wanted to get the Internet. Signal is too weak. Needs a better tower with Stay Wires and a more powerful Signal. The recent tower was made too Slight. |

IceNet Wireless is an internet service provider with HQ in Ottawa. While IceNet is based in Ottawa, their service area is in Newfoundland and Labrador. IceNet Wireless also runs the Ottawa Wi-Fi Project which sets up free wi-fi zones in the Ottawa area at school campuses, hospitals, transportation hubs, etc. IceNet Wireless is a division of EION Wireless.
In the Gonevoip review of Icenet Wireless, we will take a look at their residential internet packages available in Newfoundland and determine how their prices, internet capabilities and additional fees measure against the competition. IceNet Wireless has three main residential internet wireless packages, all of which have no contractual obligation.
- The “IceNet 1.5” costs $39.95 per month and includes unlimited data usage with download speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 0.5 Mbps.
- The “IceNet 3.0” costs $54.95 per month and includes unlimited data usage with download speeds of up to 3 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1.0 Mbps.
As a limited time offer, IceNet Wireless is offering the “IceNet 1.5” package for $19.99 for the first three months. IceNet Wireless also offers a $10 credit on your bill if you refer a friend to sign up.
There is a one-time installation fee of $99 under normal circumstances. However, for coverage in some towns, customers will require an enhanced modem which has a one-time cost of $179.99. There is no access to their terms and conditions via the IceNet Wireless website.
It is Gonevoip's opinion that many internet providers should follow the example of what IceNet Wireless is doing for the communities in Newfoundland. That is, providing free internet access to public spaces such as hospitals, entertainment districts, sporting events, school campuses, etc. This seems like such a logical way to promote a company while at the same time providing a real and impactful service for the community. And of course, the company can sell advertising by providing free hot spots. It is a win-win for everyone.
We would like to see them expand these free wi-fi zones into Newfoundland which is the service area they provide for.
The price point for IceNet Wireless’ basic internet package at $39.95 with unlimited data is very reasonable.
