KWIC Internet

KWIC Internet is a regional internet provider with complementary IT offers that service the county of Norfolk in southern Ontario. Founded in 1983 as Norfolk Computer Systems with an initial mandate of software development and business systems integration.  By 1994 the business focus turned to provide dedicated and dial-up DSL internet services.  By 1999, KWIC Internet in Simcoe Ontario was offering high-speed wireless internet to rural communities that otherwise may not have been served by larger players.  From 2000-2004, KWIC Internet provided internet provisioned with fiber to the home. Today this ISP has maintained its software roots with complimentary email, backup, security and hosting services.

Internet Access is the main product line with multiple technologies such as ‘Ultrafast DSL’ and wireless internet depending on budgets and any geographic challenges.

LAN/WAN equipment can be purchased outright or bundled into a rental model when provided and maintained by KWIC Business Internet. 

Business services/solutions offered consist of a variety of resold servers, workstations or laptops by leading manufacturers. At the Simcoe offices, they can host your dedicated or virtual server with your corporate web pages or MS Exchange with HP Enterprise-class platforms. VLANs can be built including internal wiring that can be supported with Managed Services.

Email Security Services include protection against spam, viruses, worms, phishing and denial of service attacks.  A client portal is offered for self-service access to email administration. 

KWIC can protect email domains with a managed firewall whether on your premises or while being hosted by the provider. This solution is based on Netflow.

Digital Backup Services are offered on servers and desktops to further out-task IT functions those small businesses may not have the resources in-house to build and operate.

Each service is offered on with Gold, Silver or Bronze pricing tiers to suit the capacity requirements and budgets to comparison shop on desired business services.

The Hosting facility is powered with ‘green’ best practices as KWIC Internet is active in the community by supporting local charities and socially impactful individuals.  KWIC business and consumer operations run some free and paid Wireless Hotspots throughout the county. The company prides itself on always delivering value with a ‘small town’ work ethic.

They have listened and catered to small businesses in their community and have brought in proven technologies for stable services. LAN/WAN equipment with structured cabling can be purchased outright or can be rented for those businesses that require an OPEX over a CAPEX model.

Payments for Business Services are restricted to an automated credit card account or a bank draft.
