Simplecall Reviews and Plans

Simplecall is the consumer brand of Zamir Telecom, HQ in London, UK. The main focus of Simplecall is to provide international calling or otherwise known as Long Distance services.

In GoneVoIP's Simplecall review, we found the international long distance rates to be generally good. In fact, among the best, we have seen in the market. The one thing we did notice is that your top-up has a one year expiration period;  this is an old practice dating back to the old days of phone cards. The fact of the matter is that the dollars deposited into the account do not have an expiration thus the credit shall not expire either.  Having said that, Simplecall does allow for a transfer of credit to another account but is a bit of an unnecessary hassle.

We do like the fact there is PINless dialing, along with a smartphone & computer app. Giving required flexibility, and when traveling abroad Simplecall does provide Access Numbers in a (very limited) list of countries.

Also shall be noted Simplecall has only 13 Access Numbers in the country plus a toll-free number.  Though if using toll-free you are taxed a $0.03 per call minute.

Simplecall also has Simplecall SMS for text messaging but unfortunately is not bundled with the same service. We looked at Simplecall India Unlimited calling package, but upon closer inspection, we found out that the limit of the unlimited calling is capped at 1,000 calling minutes.  This may be a lot but you could still get a great considering the monthly package is $11.95 that makes the calls to be around $0.01 - but this makes it a monthly commitment vs a Pay-As-You-Go.

In summary, Simplecall has good rates, some good features - but nothing truly exceptional about it. It would be good to see the international texting included in one common plan and also with no expiration of credit.
