Very good value for TV and InternetAfter paying well over $200 per month for TV, Internet and phone, it was time to find a more affordable option. After trying a few other TV providers who had nothing but issues with their boxes, I switched to SkyChoice and finally found a reliable and easy to use TV and Internet service. Unlike other providers, they even have a PVR that works on every TV in the house. The best part is that I am paying about half of what I used to pay with Bell for the exact same channels but with customer service based in Canada instead of overseas. |

Great service and peace of mindAfter getting increases of $15 more per month every year over the past 3 years for Bell TV + Internet, not to mention having to call several times for missing credits on my account, I started to look for TV and Internet service alternatives and found SkyChoice.I am now saving about $40 per month with SkyChoice for the same Internet service and TV channels that I was getting from Bell. Also, no more wasting hours on the phone fighting for credits and when I need to call customer service, I don't have to speak with somebody from overseas as SkyChoice is locally based here in Ontario. I had also checked what Rogers was offering but as their TV service is not wireless, I could not go with them as one of my TV's does not have an outlet in the room. This is not a problem with SkyChoice as all their TV boxes can use wireless. Only issue I have is that there's a few TV channels they don't offer yet such as Game show network but I was told that they are working with the provider to have it added in the near future. Overall, I am a satisfied customer and recommend SkyChoice for anyone, especially if you are tired of paying more ever year for your TV and Internet. |

Much more consistent than XplornetFinally,a reliable Internet service that really delivers what they are offering in rural Burlington! Was with Xplornet LTE before with their 25 Mbps service but because it has been WAY oversold, you are lucky to even get 2 Mbps during evenings. I currently have their Wifibe Express 16 wireless fiber Internet and pay less than half than what I used to pay with Xplornet but get unlimited data usage along my plan's full speed, even during evenings. |

Terrible option as wellService started off well enough but after a while they begin to reduce speeds and limit bandwidth. We call every couple of days or so to complain always some sort of issue that's not their fault. |

Finally, an alternative to satellite Internet in Caledon!A night and day difference after switching from satellite Internet to SkyChoice WiFibe internet back in 2019 with latency down from 700 to 20ms which means that VoIP and online gaming no longer have any issues. With limited options available for internet in Caledon, I am glad that there's finally a decent alternative. Initially, our service was installed on a rooftop mast but due to tall trees nearby, we had speed and connection issues especially during windy days as trees kept moving in and out, occasionally blocking the signal. However, once we invested into a 50 ft. tower, there are no more issues and the service is fast and reliable. I am currently on the WiFibe Ultimate 27 plan and get full 27 Mbps when doing a speed test with my laptop connected directly to the router and wireless disabled. |

SkyChoice is a very young internet service provider having been founded in 2014. Their headquarters can be found at 505B Pinegrove Rd, Oakville, ON, L6K 2C2. Due to the fact SkyChoice is relatively new on the market, not much is known about them, and they do not have much history. However, they do pride themselves on providing “cost-efficient” internet which can solve problems for any variety of customers.
However customers, and potential customers have to take note that recently the CCTS suspended SkyChoice. That is not an unusual step for the CCTS, but is never a good signal though.
SkyChoice has been known to offer promotions to students to provide them with feasible internet so they can complete assignments while not being burdened by an excessive bill.
SkyChoice has a variety of internet packages, however, we will review their “Lite 6” DSL plan. The SkyChoice Lite 6 DSL plan comes with a download speed of 6 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.8 Mbps. The usage is unlimited. This plan costs a total of $40 per month with an activation fee of $49.99. The pricing on this plan is somewhat impressive considering not many providers come close to offering unlimited at such a low price. For example, Altima offers a 7 Mbps plan with no usage cap for $39.95 per month!
The other two plans from Skychoice are:
- 10 Mbps Download, 1 Mbps Upload, Unlimited Usage at $55/mo
- 50 Mbps Download, 10 Mbps Upload, Unlimited Usage at $60/mo
The dry loop fees are $5.00 a month with an added onetime fee of $15.00 for the setup. This is required only for users who do not have a working landline, and in this day and age, most users do already have a phone line. Even if one doesn’t the price goes up to $29.99 per month which is still completely acceptable considering the substantial usage cap they provide.
SkyChoice made all the right decisions when it came to planning the pricing for its internet bundles. Not only are they extremely economical, but they also go above and beyond by offering unlimited usage time! If you’re looking for an internet service provider, SkyChoice is definitely a provider you should look into!
